nRF SoC definitions (hardware model v1) in Zephyr firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
·
What it is
nRF SoC definitions (hardware model v1)
Notes on this component
An nRF Connect SDK addition on top of plain Zephyr: Nordic nRF SoC definitions in the Zephyr hardware model v1 format (the repository's README says only that), pulled in at `path: modules/soc-hwmv1` in the `soc-hwmv1` group of the 2.9 manifest. Its `zephyr/module.yml` sets only a `soc_root`, so it supplies SoC description files to the build and names no library code. It is typed unknown because no source states that it contributes executable code. The upstream states no CPE, so none is written: no known identifier.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
Zephyr lists a west module by its west name, with no PURL or CPE. Vulnerability feeds cannot find it from that listing alone, which is why the SBOM check adds the identifiers below.
The identifiers we assign
pkg:github/nrfconnect/sdk-soc-hwmv1@{version}
{version} is filled in from your build. The version is pinned to the upstream commit your build uses.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
