QCBOR in Zephyr firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
·
What it is
QCBOR
Notes on this component
An nRF Connect SDK addition on top of plain Zephyr: Trusted Firmware-M's CBOR encoder/decoder, vendored at `github.com/nrfconnect/sdk-qcbor`, `path: modules/tee/tf-m/qcbor`. The repository describes itself as "NCS downstream of https://github.com/laurencelundblade/QCBOR", pinned at a commit, not a tag. No advisory found against QCBOR (laurencelundblade/QCBOR) as of 10 October 2026: the repository's GitHub security advisories list is empty, no NVD record names it as the affected product, and NVD has no CPE for it — so neither a CPE nor a GHSA check will ever match this component, and a build that enables it has to be checked against the TF-M advisories that cover the code calling it. Read alongside the `t_cose` row — the two are TF-M's COSE/CBOR dependency pair, vendored by the same NCS addition.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
Zephyr lists a west module by its west name, with no PURL or CPE. Vulnerability feeds cannot find it from that listing alone, which is why the SBOM check adds the identifiers below.
The identifiers we assign
pkg:github/laurencelundblade/QCBOR@{version}
{version} is filled in from your build. The version is pinned to the upstream commit your build uses.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
