nRF Wi-Fi driver in Zephyr firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
·
What it is
nRF Wi-Fi driver
Notes on this component
Nordic nRF70 Wi-Fi host driver. It carries the nRF70 firmware patch as a binary alongside the C driver, so the module is part source and part blob: the source is here, the binary is covered by the known-blob rows. Ask Nordic for the firmware component list. No advisory found against the nrf_wifi repository itself as of 10 October 2026 — its GitHub security advisories list is empty and NVD has no CPE for it. The one advisory that covers this driver's code is filed against Zephyr instead: CVE-2026-10664 / GHSA-3r6j-pm38-r43m, where the power-save event handler nrf_wifi_event_proc_get_power_save_info() copied Target Wake Time flow entries into a fixed eight-element array without checking the event's own count, overflowing a caller-supplied struct (Zephyr 4.0.0 up to 4.5.0, fixed in 4.5.0). A build that enables this driver therefore carries that Zephyr advisory as well as whatever this module's commit holds.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
Zephyr lists a west module by its west name, with no PURL or CPE. Vulnerability feeds cannot find it from that listing alone, which is why the SBOM check adds the identifiers below.
The identifiers we assign
pkg:github/zephyrproject-rtos/nrf_wifi@{version}
{version} is filled in from your build. The version is pinned to the upstream commit your build uses.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
