nRF Security (PSA Crypto glue) in Zephyr firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
·
What it is
nRF Security (PSA Crypto glue)
Notes on this component
Nordic's PSA Crypto integration layer: it selects and wires together whichever back end actually does the cryptography (the CryptoCell hardware driver, the Oberon software driver, or Mbed TLS/TF-PSA-Crypto's own), so CONFIG_NRF_SECURITY=y on its own says "PSA Crypto is active" without saying which engine. The `ncs-psa-crypto-driver-oberon` and `ncs-psa-crypto-driver-cc3xx` rows are the back ends this symbol selects between. No CPE exists for this glue layer. Version follows the SDK release it ships in, since this subsystem is not an independently versioned project.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
It is compiled into the kernel image when CONFIG_NRF_SECURITY is y. It does not appear in west spdx output; the only trace is the .config file in your build directory.
The identifiers we assign
No PURL and no CPE are recorded for this row.
{version} is filled in from your build. The version is read from the version your SBOM already carries for it.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
Honest gaps
Vendor: nordicsemiconductor.
This row has no CPE and no PURL, so feeds cannot be matched by identifier.
