Nordic nRF 802.15.4 radio driver (source module) in Zephyr firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
·
What it is
Nordic nRF 802.15.4 radio driver (source module)
Notes on this component
The 802.15.4 radio driver as its own west project (`repo-path: sdk-nrf-802154`, west name `nrf-802154`, in the `nrf-802154` west group — not fetched unless that group is enabled). Source-available here, unlike `nordic-nrf-802154`'s precompiled nrfxlib copy of the same driver family: a build can get this code either as source (this row) or as the nrfxlib blob, and `CONFIG_NRF_802154_RADIO_DRIVER` (the `ncs-nrf-802154-radio-driver` subsystem row) is the symbol that says the driver is in the image either way. No CPE exists for `nrf-802154`. Ask Nordic Semiconductor, through the nRF Connect SDK support channel, for its product-security notices.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
Zephyr lists a west module by its west name, with no PURL or CPE. Vulnerability feeds cannot find it from that listing alone, which is why the SBOM check adds the identifiers below.
The identifiers we assign
pkg:github/nrfconnect/sdk-nrf-802154@{version}
{version} is filled in from your build. The version is read from the upstream release tag.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
