STM32Cube HAL and low-level drivers in Zephyr firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
·
What it is
STM32Cube HAL and low-level drivers
Notes on this component
STMicroelectronics' STM32Cube HAL and low-level drivers for the STM32 families. NVD files STM32Cube flaws per family (st:stm32cubef4 and so on) and this one module spans many families, so no single CPE fits and none is set. Silicon-vendor code vendored into Zephyr, so the built code is Zephyr's fork and its version is the commit Zephyr pinned, not a vendor release number. Ask STMicroelectronics for the SBOM and the product-security notices of the SDK this is taken from.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
Zephyr lists a west module by its west name, with no PURL or CPE. Vulnerability feeds cannot find it from that listing alone, which is why the SBOM check adds the identifiers below.
The identifiers we assign
pkg:github/zephyrproject-rtos/hal_stm32@{version}
{version} is filled in from your build. The version is pinned to the upstream commit your build uses.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
