Intel HAL in Zephyr firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
·
What it is
Intel HAL
Notes on this component
Silicon-vendor support code, vendored into Zephyr from the Intel SoC and audio DSP support package. The built code is this fork, not the vendor's own release, so its version is the commit Zephyr pinned and not an upstream release number. No CPE: vendor HAL code is almost never given one, and what flaws are published arrive through the vendor's own product-security team rather than NVD. Ask intel for the SBOM and the advisory feed of the SDK this is taken from.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
Zephyr lists a west module by its west name, with no PURL or CPE. Vulnerability feeds cannot find it from that listing alone, which is why the SBOM check adds the identifiers below.
The identifiers we assign
pkg:github/zephyrproject-rtos/hal_intel@{version}
{version} is filled in from your build. The version is pinned to the upstream commit your build uses.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
