CMSIS 5 in Zephyr firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
·
What it is
CMSIS 5
Notes on this component
CMSIS 5, Arm's Cortex-M register and intrinsic definitions (the core headers). One build can list both this and CMSIS 6 (the `cmsis_6` module). It is header code with no GitHub advisories, and NVD's only Arm CMSIS entry is for CMSIS-RTOS, not this; any notice would come from Arm's security centre.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
Zephyr lists a west module by its west name, with no PURL or CPE. Vulnerability feeds cannot find it from that listing alone, which is why the SBOM check adds the identifiers below.
The identifiers we assign
pkg:github/ARM-software/CMSIS_5@{version}
{version} is filled in from your build. The version is read from the upstream release tag.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
