BabbleSim manifest in Zephyr firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
·
What it is
BabbleSim manifest
Notes on this component
The manifest that pulls in the BabbleSim radio simulator used by Zephyr's Bluetooth tests. It runs on the build or test machine and is never linked into a firmware image, so it does not belong in the inventory of what the device ships. Listed here so that a tool which sees it in a `west.yml` says what it is instead of reporting an unidentified component.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
Zephyr lists a west module by its west name, with no PURL or CPE. Vulnerability feeds cannot find it from that listing alone, which is why the SBOM check adds the identifiers below.
The identifiers we assign
No PURL and no CPE are recorded for this row.
{version} is filled in from your build. The version is pinned to the upstream commit your build uses.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
Honest gaps
Vendor: not recorded. The recipe names the product but not who publishes it, and we do not guess vendors. A * vendor matches records for any product called BabbleSim manifest, including unrelated ones.
This row has no CPE and no PURL, so feeds cannot be matched by identifier.
