Azure SDK for Embedded C in Zephyr firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
·
What it is
Azure SDK for Embedded C
Notes on this component
An nRF Connect SDK addition on top of plain Zephyr, for building Azure IoT device applications (IoT Hub, Device Provisioning Service). Vendored at `github.com/nrfconnect/azure-sdk-for-c`, `path: modules/lib/azure-sdk-for-c`; the manifest's own `userdata.ncs.upstream-url` names it an NCS downstream of Microsoft's `Azure/azure-sdk-for-c`, pinned at a commit rather than a release tag. NVD has no CPE dictionary entry for this product yet; flaws were published as GitHub security advisories on Azure/azure-sdk-for-c while that repository took them.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
Zephyr lists a west module by its west name, with no PURL or CPE. Vulnerability feeds cannot find it from that listing alone, which is why the SBOM check adds the identifiers below.
The identifiers we assign
pkg:github/Azure/azure-sdk-for-c@{version}
{version} is filled in from your build. The version is pinned to the upstream commit your build uses.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
