python3-priority in Yocto firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
·
What it is
python3-priority
Notes on this component
python3-priority is a pure-Python implementation of the HTTP/2 priority tree, which orders the streams of an HTTP/2 connection. It is used by Python HTTP/2 servers, so it handles priority frames sent by remote peers, which makes it network-facing in those programs. The recipe's CVE_PRODUCT is python python_priority_library, so a lookup uses vendor python and product python_priority_library.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
Yocto lists it by recipe name. Vulnerability databases file the same code under a vendor:product pair taken from the recipe's CVE_PRODUCT, so the two names often differ.
The identifiers we assign
cpe:2.3:a:python:python_priority_library:{version}:*:*:*:*:*:*:*
{version} is filled in from your build. The version is the recipe version in your image.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
