optee-os in Yocto firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
·
What it is
optee-os
Notes on this component
OP-TEE is a Trusted Execution Environment that runs beside a non-secure Linux kernel on Arm Cortex-A cores using TrustZone. Its parts are a secure operating system, libraries for Trusted Applications, a kernel TEE driver and a client library implementing the GlobalPlatform Client API. This recipe is the secure OS. It lists linaro:op-tee and op-tee:op-tee_os, so a lookup should try both.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
Yocto lists it by recipe name. Vulnerability databases file the same code under a vendor:product pair taken from the recipe's CVE_PRODUCT, so the two names often differ.
The identifiers we assign
cpe:2.3:a:linaro:op-tee:{version}:*:*:*:*:*:*:*
{version} is filled in from your build. The version is the recipe version in your image.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
