onednn in Yocto firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
·
What it is
onednn
Notes on this component
onednn is the oneAPI Deep Neural Network Library, an Intel library of optimised building blocks for running neural network models on CPUs. It runs inside the machine-learning application that links it and handles the model data that application gives it, with no network role of its own. The recipe sets a CVE_PRODUCT of intel math_kernel_library, an Intel product name that does not match the library name, so a lookup by the name onednn finds nothing and the Intel name is the one to search.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
Yocto lists it by recipe name. Vulnerability databases file the same code under a vendor:product pair taken from the recipe's CVE_PRODUCT, so the two names often differ.
The identifiers we assign
cpe:2.3:a:intel:math_kernel_library:{version}:*:*:*:*:*:*:*
{version} is filled in from your build. The version is the recipe version in your image.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
