libopus in Yocto firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
·
What it is
libopus
Notes on this component
Opus is an open, royalty-free audio codec standardised as IETF RFC 6716, used for voice calls, videoconferencing and music, across bitrates from 6 to 510 kb/s. The recipe sets opus-codec:opus, so search the product name "opus", not "libopus".
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
Yocto lists it by recipe name. Vulnerability databases file the same code under a vendor:product pair taken from the recipe's CVE_PRODUCT, so the two names often differ.
The identifiers we assign
cpe:2.3:a:opus-codec:opus:{version}:*:*:*:*:*:*:*
{version} is filled in from your build. The version is the recipe version in your image.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
