gtk4 in Yocto firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
·
What it is
gtk4
Notes on this component
gtk4 is version 4 of GTK, the toolkit for building graphical desktop applications. It appears in Yocto because OpenEmbedded also carries recipes for desktop systems, and it is not normally part of an embedded firmware image, so a match against it is worth checking against your own image rather than assumed. The recipe's CVE_PRODUCT is gnome gtk, so a lookup uses vendor gnome and product gtk.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
Yocto lists it by recipe name. Vulnerability databases file the same code under a vendor:product pair taken from the recipe's CVE_PRODUCT, so the two names often differ.
The identifiers we assign
cpe:2.3:a:gnome:gtk:{version}:*:*:*:*:*:*:*
{version} is filled in from your build. The version is the recipe version in your image.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
