libcoap in ESP-IDF firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
What it is
libcoap
Notes on this component
ESP-IDF's `coap` component wraps libcoap, the C CoAP implementation, with no sbom.yml of its own so esp-idf-sbom carries no identifier for it. Not to be confused with Zephyr's `coap` entry: Zephyr's CoAP is its own in-tree implementation under a Zephyr CPE, while ESP-IDF vendors the separate upstream libcoap project.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
ESP-IDF records it from the component's own sbom.yml file, so what the SBOM says depends on what that file declares.
The identifiers we assign
pkg:github/obgm/libcoap@{version}cpe:2.3:a:libcoap:libcoap:{version}:*:*:*:*:*:*:*
{version} is filled in from your build.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
