network_provisioning in ESP-IDF firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
What it is
network_provisioning
Notes on this component
The newer, unified Wi-Fi/Thread provisioning transport (SoftAP or BLE, secure session, credential exchange) that replaces the built-in `wifi_provisioning` component for a project that adds it as a managed dependency; lives in idf-extra-components, not esp-idf itself. No NVD CPE entry was found for it.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
ESP-IDF records it from the component's own sbom.yml file, so what the SBOM says depends on what that file declares.
The identifiers we assign
pkg:github/espressif/idf-extra-components@{version}
{version} is filled in from your build.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
