Espressif mDNS component in ESP-IDF firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
What it is
Espressif mDNS component
Notes on this component
Moved out of the esp-idf tree itself at ESP-IDF v5.0 into Espressif's own esp-protocols repository, and now pulled in as a Component Registry package (`espressif/mdns`) rather than a built-in component. No NVD CPE entry was found for it.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
ESP-IDF records it from the component's own sbom.yml file, so what the SBOM says depends on what that file declares.
The identifiers we assign
pkg:github/espressif/esp-protocols@{version}
{version} is filled in from your build.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
