ESP RainMaker (Espressif's own cloud SDK) in ESP-IDF firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
What it is
ESP RainMaker (Espressif's own cloud SDK)
Notes on this component
Espressif's own IoT cloud agent SDK, a separate repository pulled in as a managed component by a RainMaker-enabled project — not upstream open source from a third party, and not part of the esp-idf tree itself, so it gets its own product rather than the esp-idf framework CPE. No CPE is published for it; Espressif tracks advisories through its own product-security process.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
ESP-IDF records it from the component's own sbom.yml file, so what the SBOM says depends on what that file declares.
The identifiers we assign
pkg:github/espressif/esp-rainmaker@{version}
{version} is filled in from your build.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
