ESP-IDF driver in ESP-IDF firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
What it is
ESP-IDF driver
Notes on this component
The legacy peripheral driver umbrella component (GPIO, UART, I2C, SPI, PWM compatibility shims). It talks to on-chip peripherals rather than the network; its exposure is whatever the attached devices send in. Espressif ships it as first-party ESP-IDF source with no release line or advisory feed of its own, so the only identifier that exists for it is ESP-IDF's.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
ESP-IDF records it from the component's own sbom.yml file, so what the SBOM says depends on what that file declares.
The identifiers we assign
pkg:github/espressif/esp-idf@{version}cpe:2.3:a:espressif:esp-idf:{version}:*:*:*:*:*:*:*
{version} is filled in from your build.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
