cJSON in ESP-IDF firmware: identifiers and CRA notes
What it is
cJSON
Notes on this component
Ultralightweight JSON parser in C, vendored by ESP-IDF's `json` component (historically no sbom.yml, so esp-idf-sbom carries no identifier for it). NVD's dictionary has two vendor spellings for the same product; `davegamble` is the one still receiving new entries, `cjson_project` is deprecated-only, so this row uses `davegamble`.
Where it hides in a firmware SBOM
ESP-IDF records it from the component's own sbom.yml file, so what the SBOM says depends on what that file declares.
The identifiers we assign
pkg:github/DaveGamble/cJSON@{version}cpe:2.3:a:davegamble:cjson:{version}:*:*:*:*:*:*:*
{version} is filled in from your build.
The SBOM check adds these identifiers to a component your build listed without them.
Honest gaps
